27 Jul Child only ate crunchy food
I had a client who at the age of 7 was giving his parents a food challenge. He would only eat crunchy food. If it didn’t crunch then he wouldn’t eat it. Now before you read on … grab a box of tissues. The boy was very suggestible and went into a light trance quite easily. I took him back through his birthdays and asked him to tell me what he was eating when he was 6, 5, 4, 3 and so on. He hesitated when we got to age 3 so I asked him for clarification. He said he started to eat crunchy food when he was 3. I asked him why? His words brought a heavy silence to the room. He said “I ate crunchy food so that I wouldn’t hear mummy and daddy crying”. At that stage his mum, who was sitting in another chair in the room, broke into sobs. I asked the boy to take his imagination to the park to play while I spoke with his mum. His mum explained that she had lost a full term baby and both her and husband had been devastated. She had no idea that it had impacted so heavily on their then 3 yr old son. I went back to the boy and asked him if now that he was 7, would he like me to talk to him like a small kid, or a big kid. He said he was now a big kid. I asked him to imagine that he could go back to the 3 yr old boy, give him a hug and let him go off and play, just like other 3 yr old boys play. And tell the younger you, how much you have grown up and how happy your mummy and daddy are now.
His mum phoned me that afternoon telling me how all the way home her son sat in the back of the car eating a bunch of grapes … and they didn’t crunch once.
It doesn’t matter what age the client is. Hypnosis can get them great results.
